CES ISO 27001 Gap Assessment

A focused security assessment matrix of five ISO 27001 controls, with identified gaps mapped to risk-ranked remediation.

Project Overview

The security assessment reviews five control areas related to ISO 27001 and maps findings to remediation strategies and criticality. Three reports document the work:

  1. The security assessment
  2. A findings report with remediation strategies, ownership, and suggested timelines
  3. An executive summary with a brief overview of the assessment

Assessment Scope

A targeted control review keeps the assessment focused on the selected safeguards and the evidence available for each. Control areas consisted of:

  1. Access Control
  2. Authentication Information
  3. Network Security
  4. Web Filtering
  5. Incident Response

Gap Review

Control gaps are documented so stakeholders can see where follow-up may be needed, analyze business risk compared to security risk, and assess high-priority findings.

Risk-Ranked Remediation

Remediation plans are outlined to focus on strategies to address security gaps. Evidence required and ownership are identified to highlight processes in the workflow that could support closure or ongoing assurance.
